The company was formed 1982 from former
musician Peter Bischoff.
The first artist who was signed was the Hamburg based group Frizz with two longplayers. The first studioproduction by Peter Bischoff was the austrian rocktheater “Hallucination Company”(former band from Falco)Founder Ludwig “Wiggerl” Adam was receiving last year the “Amadeus lifetime achievement award”
After a while bearsong is becoming a home for blues musicians from Hamburg. Abi Wallenstein, Joja Wendt, Steve Baker, Henry Heggen, Günther Brackmann, Kurt Buschmann, Inga Rumpf, Dick Bird, Charly Schreckschuss Band. From Munich blues pianoplayer Martin Schmitt joined bearsong too.
From the label Abandon Records and its Publishing Edition the following bands & artists were administered through bearsong: Mandala, Tricky Lobsters, Kongo Skulls, Electro Baby, 7 Days Awake, Lord Bishop, American Dog, Eddie Stone, Ghost Riders, Lizard.
